Pratt-Low Cannery at Landing 41 1/2
A map dated 1928 of the "Delta of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers California" shows the current location of Cannery Landing as that of the former Grand Island Branch of the Pratt-Low Preserving Company an early Delta cannery and packing plant.
The map was compiled in 1928 by Capt. H M Weathers Assisted by Masters & Pilots of River Steamers. Captain Weathers was the captain of the H E Wright in 1916. The H E Wright was a sternwheeler built in 1899 and “abandoned” in 1928. Captain Weathers' map shows the Pratt-Low facility located at Landing 41 1/2 on the Sacramento River.
